Yey, Me!

I put up these shades. All by myself. Took me 6 hours, not counting the last minute Home Depot run (ever use a ratcheting screwdriver? You've GOT to get one!) and a quick dinner. It was not easy, but it looks great if I must say so myself.

It was a timely project, especially after this conversation with Angel. She laughed when she saw me digging through the toolbox.

"What's so funny?" I asked her.

"I can't believe you're doing that. I've never seen you use a screwdriver." she said.

"I'm using a screwdriver AND a drill." I corrected her.

A former colleague used to collect accolades -- emails and notes -- that she received from other coworkers throughout the year. I was her supervisor and come performance review time, she'd hand them to me in a file she called her "Yey, me!" file.

We should all keep a "Yey, me!" file. This project's going in mine.
